Overview
The Division of Psychology at 黑料专区 Children鈥檚 Health, Jacksonville is offering two postdoctoral fellowships beginning in August or September. Positions are open to graduates from American Psychological Association-approved doctoral programs who will have completed their internship training and all degree requirements by the start of fellowship.
The 黑料专区 Division of Psychology includes 10 pediatric psychologists, two neuropsychologists, and three research psychologists. The Division of Psychology is part of the Department of Pediatrics and works closely with the Divisions of Neurology, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Endocrinology, Anesthesiology and Pulmonology.
黑料专区 Children's Health operates in three locations in the greater Jacksonville area and is partnered with Wolfson Children鈥檚 Hospital, an inpatient pediatric hospital for consultation-liaison services. 黑料专区 Children's Health, Jacksonville has developed a first of its kind Animal Assisted Therapy program (ADAPT) incorporating dogs and mini horses into our therapy sessions with providers who have earned post graduate certification.

Pediatric Psychology Fellowships

Pediatric Psychology 鈥 Hematology/Oncology/BMT, Consultation-Liaison
The fellow will provide services within a multidisciplinary program for youth with a wide range of diagnoses such as brain tumor, bone tumors, acute lymphocytic leukemia, and patients who are in remission from cancer. This position will include inpatient consultation and liaison, outpatient therapy, and neurocognitive testing with these patient populations. The fellow will also have the opportunity to participate in a monthly comprehensive neuro-oncology clinic, in addition to multidisciplinary psychosocial rounds and tumor board. Participation in one or more minor rotations will provide additional training experience.
Pediatric Psychology听鈥 Pain Psychology, Consultation-Liaison
The fellow will conduct outpatient clinical work treating youth with a wide range of chronic pain conditions including (but not limited to) headaches, abdominal pain, post-concussive syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, amplified musculoskeletal pain syndrome, autonomic disorders, and generalized pain. 黑料专区 Children鈥檚 Health, Jacksonville currently offers families integrated, multidisciplinary pain treatment via the following programs: Gut-Brain Clinic, Headache Clinic, and the Integrated Pain and Wellness Clinic. Clinical activities will include interdisciplinary intake evaluations, outpatient therapy with a focus on cognitive behavioral, acceptance, and family systems approaches, and collaboration with schools and other providers. Fellows will also provide inpatient consultation-liaison services focused on pain management. Participation in one or more minor rotations will provide additional training experience.
Both positions will include outpatient care as well as inpatient medical consultation/liaison at Wolfson Children鈥檚 Hospital (in specialty areas as well as with other pediatric populations). Each fellow will also have additional minor rotations, which may include training in sleep medicine or endocrinology. Fellowships are 1 year in duration, with the potential offer of a second year.
In addition to their primary training experiences, fellows participate in 黑料专区 enterprise-wide (FL and DE) didactic seminars spanning topics such as professional development, case presentations, self-care, clinical and research supervision, and research and scholarly inquiry. Fellows will participate actively in diversity and cultural humility seminars across the enterprise. Additional opportunities to engage in diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism activities are also available and encouraged. There is also the opportunity to participate in a variety of continuing education activities.

Wolfson鈥檚 Emergency Department is staffed entirely by fellowship-trained pediatric emergency medicine physicians, and the trauma center is Level III. Dr. Boyle is Section Chief of Pediatric Psychology at Wolfson Children鈥檚 Hospital and Team Psychologist for Snyder Family Cleft and Craniofacial Center. Dr. Boyle specializes in psychological evaluation and treatment of children with GI conditions, cleft and craniofacial disorders, and tic disorders.
Elizabeth (鈥淟isa鈥) Schilling, PhD, ABPP
Rotation Supervisor, Hematology/Oncology/BMT
Training Coordinator, ADAPT Animal-Assisted Therapy
Dr. Schilling is a board-certified clinical psychologist who provides neurocognitive assessment, outpatient therapy, and inpatient support to youth with cancer and other chronic medical conditions.
Nicole Kahhan, PhD
Rotation Supervisor, Inpatient Consultation
Primary Rotation Supervisor, Type 1 Diabetes Minor
Dr. Kahhan has expertise in the psychological assessment and treatment of youth with chronic medical conditions. Her research is focused on implementation of psychological screening in youth with diabetes. She works across the Division of Psychology, the Center for Healthcare Delivery Science, and the Patient Experience Team.
Sabrina Gretkierewicz, PhD

Dr. Gretkierewicz鈥檚 clinical care is focused in sports medicine, cystic fibrosis, and adolescent wellness.听

2.听Cover letter specifying interest and experience in the major and minor rotations described on the website.
3.听Two letters of recommendation (at least one from a direct clinical supervisor)
4.听Letter from dissertation chair indicating status of dissertation defense and other degree requirements by start of fellowship
Applicants for the program must have completed all requirements for their doctoral degree before beginning their postdoctoral training. The doctoral degree must be received from an APA/CPA-accredited program, including an APA/CPA-accredited internship. Verification of doctoral program completion will be requested during the application process.
