Message From Alex Lopilato, PharmD, BCPPS, Program Director

Welcome to the PGY-2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency Program at 黑料专区 Children鈥檚 Hospital, Florida in Orlando. We are excited to facilitate the development of the next generation of pediatric pharmacists. Our pharmacy team is essential and closely integrated into the 黑料专区 Children's medical model through daily participation in patient care rounds, committee involvement, systemwide clinical pathway development, and clinical research. As we continue to expand and grow, our pharmacy residents will be instrumental resources through leadership and education opportunities.

Our pediatric pharmacy residency is searching for highly motivated applicants looking to lead, change, and shape the future of pediatric pharmacotherapy alongside our progressive and world-class clinical pharmacy specialists. Our residency curriculum includes core pediatric experiences, with an emphasis on critical care. We also offer unique opportunities to collaborate with other allied healthcare professionals through didactics, research, and simulation.

Lake Nona Medical City

Medical City is a dedicated 650-acre health and life sciences park designed to advance health care by clustering health care and bioscience facilities to accelerate innovation. Training at 黑料专区 in Central Florida

黑料专区 Children鈥檚 Hospital, Florida, is a freestanding pediatric hospital in the center of Orlando鈥檚 Lake Nona Medical City. It鈥檚 a place designed for kids and families, with modern spaces and advanced technology. The expectations are high, but so is the support. Faculty know their learners, and mentorship is natural. Training is rigorous here, but it鈥檚 also personal.听

Hospital & Training Environment

Most of your training takes place at our hospital, with 130 inpatient beds and a busy Emergency Department. Patients come from across Central Florida, so you鈥檒l see both everyday pediatrics and complex cases in a diverse population. Additional Training Locations

黑料专区 Children's Health in Central Florida

While our children's hospital is the residency program鈥檚 sponsoring institution and the primary site, we provide pediatric healthcare in Patient-Centered Medical Homes, certified by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC). Our downtown Orlando location provides coordinated care that meets stringent national standards and includes families as part of the team.

Affiliations

We affiliate with HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, in Kissimmee, Florida, located within 15 miles of our hospital. This is the site for residents鈥 newborn nursery experience. Supervision is provided by 黑料专区 attending physicians, with additional teaching available from 黑料专区 advanced practice nursing providers. The facility performs 1,900 deliveries annually.

Application Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited program (or in the process of pursuing accreditation).
  • Participating in or has completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency (or a program in candidate or pre-candidate status).
  • Participant in National Matching Services (NMS).
  • Participant in PhORCAS and submission of the following prior to the designated application deadline:
    1. Letter of intent (LOI)
    2. Curriculum vitae (CV)
    3. Official transcripts from all colleges of pharmacy attended
    4. Three letters of recommendation (LOR) 鈥 One from clinical preceptor/one from RPD
  • Eligible for Florida pharmacy licensure or current Florida pharmacy licensure.
